Acceptance of Resignation

The nation's top law enforcement official, Pam Bondi, confirmed the prosecutor's departure on Monday. She commented that the judicial decision made it unworkable for her to effectively run her office.

"Do not interpret compliance for surrender," she wrote. "The effort will now extend throughout America."

Her resignation comes a week after a US appeals court determined that she had been serving in violation of the law as the top prosecutor. This decision is could influence numerous criminal cases in the Garden State.
