Tottenham Open to Selling Forward Brennan Johnson.

Brennan Johnson in action
Brennan Johnson has earned forty-two times with the Welsh national team since making his debut in 2020.

Tottenham Hotspur's European final hero Brennan Johnson is facing an unclear situation in North London due to increasing top-flight attention in the attacker.

Reports indicate that Tottenham, while not actively seeking to sell the Welsh international, are open to a potential departure if they get a suitable bid.

Crystal Palace are presently the side most advanced in their pursuit for Johnson, but a number of sides are believed to be keeping tabs on his status with interest.

Last Campaign of Contrasts

Johnson was Tottenham's leading Premier League scorer last season with eleven strikes, and secured his place in club history by netting the decisive goal in their European final triumph against United last season, ending the club's 17-year wait for a trophy.

However, the departure of the previous manager and appointment of the new head coach has meant Johnson playing more of a reduced role this season.

The Welsh forward, has made only six top-flight starts this term.

Transfer Market Speculation Mounts

Therefore, a number of clubs have been alerted to his possible departure ahead of the winter transfer window.

Given his lack of action and the prospect of a global tournament approaching with his national team, a switch from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium may suit Johnson next month.

Johnson joined Spurs from Nottingham Forest in a deal worth £47.5m in the summer of 2023 and has registered 27 goals in all competitions.

The Situation

  • Brennan Johnson's future at Tottenham is now uncertain.
  • Tottenham is not actively marketing him but would entertain bids.
  • Crystal Palace are leading the chase, with other Premier League clubs monitoring.
  • The arrival of manager has limited his first-team opportunities this season.
  • The January transfer window and Wales's commitments could drive a January exit.
