Paris Saint-Germain Edges Olympique de Marseille on Penalties to Claim French Super Cup in the Middle East.

PSG players celebrating

The Parisian club has now won the prestigious cup on fourteen separate times.

The Parisian giants required a stoppage-time equaliser followed by a successful spot-kick decider to overcome Marseille in Kuwait and capture a fourth straight Trophee des Champions title.

The Champions League holders seemed to be coasting towards a straightforward win in the match featuring the French league champions and the Coupe de France holders after Ousmane Dembele opened the net in the opening stages.

However, the southern French side fired two times late to take a surprise lead. First, Mason Greenwood scored from the spot-kick, before Willian Pacho unfortunately directed the ball into his own net for an own-goal.

In a breathtaking twist of events, Goncalo Ramos snatched a crucial equaliser in the final moments to send the match into a penalty shootout. PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier then emerged as the key figure, saving crucial attempts from O'Riley and Hamed Traore.

In the shootout, Goncalo Ramos, the midfielder, Nuno Mendes, and the young talent all scored successfully for PSG to seal a 4-1 penalty win.

Now 14-time champions PSG, who faced last season's Ligue 1 second-placed team Olympique de Marseille after completing a league and cup double, have now lifted this competition for the twelfth time in the past thirteen seasons.
